We start off the day with rain, nothing new as this is becoming the norm when it comes to breaking down the camp and hooking up the RV. Theresa is a master behind the wheel in hooking the RV up, I help a little. We were off and going as planned to head to our next stop for 4 days at the Nashville Shores Resort. The rode there took us through the beautiful Blueridge and Smokey mountains. Only bummer was the rain for a good portion of the trip. We are getting better at planning our stops for gas with Love’s Travel Centers being our preferred stops. Love’s provided a great place to get gas and by the way I got to show off my back up skills with parking perfectly after getting gas to grab some lunch with my lovely bride!
I have not forgotten the road ratings update with Virginia being some of the best roads so far and Pennsylvania still holding the top spot for the worst roads so far.
As we continue are journey after stopping for gas and lunch, we are reminded of the famous gas station Buc-ee’s on a billboard and we have to stop to see why everyone is talking about this place. So if you think it is just a gas station you would be mistaken because it is truly the southern version of Trader Joes. All I could think about was Jeff Foxworthy saying “here’s your sign” for stopping here. Parking not an issue for us as the parking lot is HUGE! So as we walk in the aroma of amazing food is in the air and when I say amazing nothing that would equal healthy for you. We moved quickly to the area where everyone was waiting anxiously for BBQ sandwiches. The brisket looked amazing and we dove in to grab a sandwich before someone else snatched it up. Theresa wanted Pulled Pork and she knocked down a little girl to get the last one. To be fair, Theresa offered to give it to the girl and the mom just stormed off like she lost the winning lottery ticket. We did grab some souvenirs for the grandkids as well. Fast forward to dinner at the RV tonight, the brisket sandwich was crazy good and I must admit probably better than anything I have had in KC.
We arrived safely in Nashville Shores Resort and we are here until Friday so look for plenty of photos and updates starting tomorrow. We are having an amazing time and of course we just got setup here and the sky opened up to ensure we felt at home with more rain…
