We did some sight seeing today in the Nashville area and visited the Hermitage. So I am sure you are wondering as we were, what is a Hermitage? The quick definition is a remote and secluded place and we visited Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage today. The Jackson’s Hermitage started as a retreat and evolved into a large estate. We are history nerds and enjoyed the history lesson which included a tour of the estate home for the Jackson family. The Hermitage is the largest and most visited presidential homes in the United States. As you have guessed by now, Andrew Jackson was the 7th President of the United States. We highly recommending if you are in the Nashville area to put this on your must visit list.
The weather cleared up by 10am today and no rain for the remainder of our time here. So we will not have to breakdown and hook up in the rain tomorrow morning, about time! We are headed to Arkansas tomorrow and it is a short 4 hour drive for one night on our way to visit family in Southeast Oklahoma for a week.
It is hard to believe we have been on the road already for a week. We are lovin’ it and Theresa cooked up a Mexican feast for a final dinner in Nashville. I have included more pictures today as we are getting better at capturing our adventure with our phones. Enjoy and I will provide an update from Arkansas tomorrow.
