Days 16 -18: Fun with Family & Friends in Kansas City

Happy Saturday! It was a busy week in Kansas City. There was a flurry of activity to spend time with all of our family and friends! The result is the blog not being kept current. I hope you enjoy the recap of our great week in Kansas City.

Monday was a day of recovery as the trip finally caught up with us! We took it easy around the RV with some organizing and cleaning but mostly just enjoying our theater seating. We had dinner with Emma and Carlos at Rudy’s Mexican Restaurant along with Carlos’ parents Scott and Mary Ann. Great restaurant if you are looking for a great meal in Kansas City. We enjoyed the time catching up and of course the food!

Tuesday was a chance for me to spend time with Josh. We had lunch at my favorite KC pizza place, Pizza Shoppe. Theresa spent time with her friend Mary having lunch at the RV. I spent the afternoon hanging with Jess and the grand kids. We had a great time playing games and educating the grand kids on the skills of winning at Uno. We wrapped up the day having dinner with my best friend Ron and his better half, Joann. We are on a KC Mexican restaurant tour. We enjoyed dinner at another great Mexican restaurant in the Northland. This restaurant is Rancho Grande Cantina. It was great to catch up and appreciate you both making time to have dinner with us. Miss our Friday afternoon Happy Hours solving the world’s problems my friend!

Wednesday was our last day in Kansas City and we were wishing that we had planned more time. It was prep day for heading out on Thursday for the next leg of our journey. We are actually getting pretty good at securing the RV for travel and completing any minor M&R tasks. We spent the late afternoon and evening having fun with the kids and grand kids. We started off with watching Mick play baseball and he was a rock star! We all headed over to Jess and Austin’s afterwards for a surprise early celebration of my birthday. We also surprised the grand kids with water balloons to enjoy on the 4th of July. The big surprise for me was the gift from everyone. They surprised me with an original pair of Ronald’s big red shoes, too cool! Funny note, we picked them up from one of her auction purchases a couple months back. I also was not happy about the expense as we were preparing for our sabbatical trip. Amazing gift and thanks everyone for the surprise. The last day with the kids and grand kids was a great ending to an amazing visit to Kansas City.

Thanks everyone, we miss and love you all!
